Rape

A number of rape cases in India, in the past few decades have put a spotlight on the issue of gender-attacks in the country.

Crime against women have been on the rise in the South Asian country. According to the latest government figure, India police registered 33,658 cases of rape. According to a survey a women is raped in India every 5minutes. India, thus has been dubbed ‘the most dangerous country for women’ by many human rights activists. But why is India so prone to gender-based crimes?

There is no specific age for this. Women are getting rapes in all the stages let it be a 6 months girl to 90 year women, they are not safe in their work places as well.

In mostly cases people blame the girl why? Because she is a girl, doesn’t make sense right. Rape happens because of their dressing sense. How can a 6 months kid know how to dress up properly. It depends on the mentality of the rapists not to the victim.

According to the Hindu literature women’s are equal to god ‘DURGA’. Then why they are treated in this way, there is no specific answer for this. They need to fight for themselves. It’s very easy to suggest someone what to do, but it’s very difficult to implement it, it’s very difficult to face the situation.

Women need to protect themselves, Until unless they speak-up and act nothing can be the same. They need to be trained at their early stages how to protect themselves from such situations. It should be a part of their curriculum activities in ‘Aangan Badi’, ‘Schools’ as well. They should know the basic technics to prevent from the situation. For example-using pepper spray, chilli powder, pen, pin etc.

But usually it happens our brain stops working at that point of time. We are not in that state to handle the situation. Instead we can learn some technics to hit them or faint them for certain time.
